Meeting the Founders of the Kind Campaign

Ever had a surreal experience, when you are having a genuine connection with another person and realize that there are still good human beings in the world? Yesterday,  I had the pleasure of meeting the lovely ladies that founded the Kind Campaign. The Kind Campaign advocates anti-bullying among girls and women. Deep rooted in the heart of the foundation is promoting girls supporting girls and spreading the message that it is cool to be kind.

As I listened to Lauren and Molly’s presentation about how bullying impacted their lives, all I wanted to do was talk to them one on one and have a proper conversation. My curiosity got the best of me. After they introduced their documentary, I went over and introduced myself and asked them if I could sit and interview them. While the interview was for work, I took away so much from our conversation.

  1. It’s important to begin establishing the bullying conversation at an early age.
  2. It is okay to feel what you feel.
  3. Asking for help is not a sign of weakness but strength.
  4. Admitting, that we all make mistakes is a part of life.
  5. Kindness never goes out of style.
  6. Negativity is never cool.
  7. The old adage “If you have nothing nice to say, don’t say anything at all.”

I will admit to getting emotional during our conversation. I felt so inspired by the work that they are doing. Additionally, it was great to meet two individuals whom understand the journey of being bullied and wanting to help others. I was brave enough to share part of my story with them and why I am so passionate about their campaign and overall mission. They were genuinely responsive and compassionate.

As I concluded my interview, Lauren gifted me with a Giving Key necklace with the word INSPIRE. Telling me how I should continue to advocate and help others in my everyday life. I tried so hard not to shed a tear.  Both Molly and Lauren were sweet and extremely relatable.

Go check out their campaign! Remember to be kind!
