Techniques on Confident Living


The day to day life that we are accustomed to in our capitalist society has left little room for us to truly explore who we are as individuals. Whether at work or at home, many of us are in constant need of validation, myself included. In the past two years, I have learned some techniques to become a more confident version of myself and live the way that I want. I am living by my own terms.

First, remind yourself that you are only human. You can do only but so much. As long as you are happy with who you are that is all that matters. Remind yourself daily you are only human, it is okay to make mistakes. Accepting mistakes is part of confident living. Second, feeling vulnerable is part of growing and maturing. We are not always going to have perfect days. However, it is how we bounce back that determines our character and influences our confidence. Third, asking for help is not weakness but a sign of maturity. You recognize that you cannot do everything on your own. Lastly, I recommend daily affirmations. Reminding yourself how far you have come in your life.

 As an added bonus remember to take time to pamper yourself and have some quality “you” time. It is not a selfish act to pull back and allow yourself a mental and physical rest from the world.
